Samuel
And then I radio-ed Tower: ”Niner Yankee Mike, ready for line up.”
There was a pause. And then: ”Yankee Mike, blurb blub blurrrb blub..” (Can’t catch what HE said – it was a different controller; remember I said previously the first response from Tower was female?)
I spoke: “Say again please, Niner Yankee Mike.”
“Yankee Mike, confirm taxi to holding point Bravo.”
What in the world is he talking about??
“Niner Yankee Mike. Err.. I’m already at holding point Bravo, requesting lineup for 1 Circuit and Landing, Sir.”
A pause again. Guess what was going through my mind at that point in time? The female controller probably went to the loo and didn’t inform the guy that I’m preparing for takeoff, and whoever was handling Ground Control didn’t pass on the message to Tower!
“Yankee Mike, clear to lineup runway 16.”
My response: “Clear to line up runway 16, Niner Yankee Mike.”
